Fifteen years ago, I was a painfully shy young man facing regular criticism about my appearance and lack of confidence as an opera singer.
Each time someone commented on my professional weaknesses, it led to a further knock to my self confidence. The feeling of being the shyest person in the room forced me to make changes. I was often the sole introvert in a sea of extroverted personalities.
